FAYETTEVILLE – Chancellor James Anderson is intent on building Fayetteville State University’s academic reputation.
And perhaps because it has a significant number of military students seeking new ways to access an education, it has found success with online programs. Anderson says in the accompanying video that FSU has the strongest array of online offerings in the UNC System.
He ticks off the rankings:
- #1 most affordable online master’s program in Criminal Justice from the National Center for Education Statistics.1
- #2 Nursing program in the Eastern and Southeastern United States, according to NurseJournal.org.2
- #1 Online Psychology program by Affordable Colleges Online in 2015-16.3
- #1 most affordable Online MBA program in the country, according to BestMastersDegrees.com and OnlineMBA.com.4
“Think about that now – we’re talking about comparing to the Harvards and the Stanfords and the University of Michigans,” Anderson says. “Most of our online programs are in that category.”
“We added Health Management, because we did the research and found out that’s one of the hot new career options,” he says. “Change is occurring so fast, so rapidly. We’re trying to stay abreast of those to make sure that we’re able to provide the high-quality programs.”
Another addition is a certificate in cyber-security – a credential sought by many military veterans, Anderson says.
“We’re really trying hard to sustain that academic reputation,” he says.
